I got kicked off of instagram on Sunday for joking that Americans are barbarians for still using lead and oakum. 4 days later my girlfriend and I are in a ditch packing and pouring like a barbarian. Its only allowed in a few cities in the states, Philadelphia being one. Not too many plumbers have the chance of every pouring a joint. Working with cast iron is my absolute favorite thing in plumbing. I am not hear to argue that its better or more efficient, only that I have an absolute blast whether I'm banding it or packing it!
