I do not do refrigeration at all at my company. But yesterday I helped out a buddy diagnose a ground compressor on a walk in box through the phone. He stated that the defrost timer was bypass and all the wires were going to the contactor. I told him if there’s one in there then it’s meant to be wired up so he said he was gonna write that up for replacement as well. Out of curiosity does a walk-in cooler really need to defrost timer? I figure it never freezes and when it satisfies it will maintain box temp. Like I said before I do not have refrigeration experience so excuse my ignorance Just curious.
