A trick I did for many years is split this door on old ICP pkg units. Reason is to prevent any damage to the coil and refrigeration circuitry when it came to filter replacement time. Plus it makes it a heck of a lot easier to access for PM’s. You probably won’t ever run into this but you never know maybe another brand one day will start designing goofy stuff like this again.
