WIF freezer keeps frosting up. 4 defrost a day at 40min limit (changed it from 30 a few days back.) Superheat is high due to waterlogged insulation. About 18F superheat at evaporator. All 3 evap fans are running. Temp cut out was at -5F and cut in at 5F. I adjusted it to 0F and 10F just for overnight. I melted the ice off with a hose a few days ago so evap doesn't seem to be restricted. Frost pattern appears evenly after the TXV along the distribution lines. Sight glass is mostly full ~80-90% My next solution would be to increase defrost from 4 to 6 times a day. And possibly adjust the TXV. My question is, is the TXV restricted? Edit: The tech who checked this out after me decided to change out the time clock. Thought it might be causing intermittent defrosting when it switches over at certain times.
