Is it me or should we as an industry stop calling them, "tune ups"? This I find this is mostly in residential but I think "inspection" is a better term. Inspection leaves it open for possible outcomes. What I mean is that an inspection can reveal bad capacitors, dirty coils or secondary heat exchangers, bearing play on blower motors or wheels, etc etc. After inspection, you can recommend repairs. Using the term tune up sounds like you've completed all the needed repairs for it to run problem free. This could lead to an awkward conversation with the customer. "Well, I thought I just paid $99 for a tune up"....In reality no they didn't. They paid for someone to vacuum out the furnace and see if the heat fires up, in my experience anyway. Thoughts? And how does your company tackle this?
