#teachme Refrig techs know this but strictly AC techs may not. A frozen suction line is normal in some applications especially low temp. For example, this is R404a walk in freezer runs at approximately -40⁰F saturated suction temperature as compared to AC that runs approximately 40⁰F saturated suction temperature. Add in some superheat and that suction line is still well below freezing temps. I bring this up because I've had apprentices call me on freezer calls and think the system had a low charge. Fun fact...-40⁰C and ‐40⁰F are the same, they line up together on a conversion chart.
