This was an experiment i decided to do while helping out a friend. It is 100% true that once you get to approximately 2000 microns, no matter the size of your vacuum pump, your hoses make all the difference in the world. I was below 500 microns with the trublu hose before the sman with 1/4” hoses reached 1000 microns. I was pulling on the line sets only. The trublu hose was connected to the longer line set (approx. 40ft) while the 1/4” was on a 15ft line set. Your evacuation set up is key to pulling a good vacuum. A good vacuum is EVERYTHING.
