Spaceguards are excellent filter systems. An improperly installed filter can do more harm than good. The technique isn't groundbreaking but it may help someone out. If the combs are gone or broken aprilaire sells a retro fit kit called the 1213 and allows it to take a new media that doesn't require the combs and revise the cabinet.
