I was not really using isolated low loss fittings like this one until last year. Great for checking refrigerant pressures on any of your PM equipment with the most minimal refrigerant loss possible. I would typically use a stubby gauge prior to the acquisition of my newer Testo 549i smart probes. Even with a stubby from the compound gauge, I always found the schrader depressor to prematurely seat the valve prior to being fully threaded on the service port. Doing this on the high side is not always fun, not when liquid refrigerant from R410A is flashing at -60 degrees Fahrenheit🥶. This JB model is one of many low loss fittings out there.
