Looking for thoughts on an issue a fellow tech (and apparently several others) have had on a residential gas furnace. Background: 16 year old Trane unit. Apparently my fellow techs first visit involved him fixing the flue hood, which had been damaged by heavy snows up here in Idaho. At the time of his first call, the resident informed him that someone had changed the pressure switch not too long ago. He got a call back some time later and returned, where he detected that the inducer motor was about to go bad-- saw that the inducer would make the pressure switch, but as he watched on his magnehelic, he saw the negative pressure pull reduce while simultaneously noticing an uptick in amp draw on the motor. So he ordered a new inducer and put it on yesterday. Gets another call today and goes back with the boss. They noted that the sequence would make on low fire, but not on high fire. Thoughts? Any reflections are appreciated! I'm on call this weekend so I'm tryna be prepared lol and this background information didn't immediately present an apparent resolution to me. Thanks in advance! #teachme
