Found this on a compressor for a walk in freezer. Took over account from another company. They have a solenoid coming off of liquid line at the base valve (which is correct) but if you look at the compressor there is no DTC valve to meter the liquid in to the compressor to cool it. They simply brazed the line directly into the compressor on the inside of the threads. Anytime the contactor pulls in that solenoid opens up and feeds liquid directly into the compressor. Obviously we have to replace the compressor. Wasn't the only issue but certainly the most interesting.
