***New members, make sure you add yourself to groups and follow techs to get the most value from the app*** I wanted to bring up the term, "soft foot", when it comes to pump shaft alignment. Soft foot is when the bolts are loose, on the motor for instance and it's able to rock side to side or back and forth. If you align the shafts and then tighten down a soft foot it will put everything out of wack. To fix soft foot, you must add shims underneath the wobbly foot until the motor can't be rocked and the shim can't be pulled out from the foot. If anyone has experience on shaft alignment please weigh in. #teachme
