I just got certified in Manual D residential duct design today and after going through that course, I now understand in a whole new light why hvac systems last fewer years than ever and why so many systems that have a nearly perfect airflow of 400 cfm/ton are only producing 60% or less of their total capacity. If you’ve never taken a Manual D course, please do. You’ll be floored at what you’ve been overlooking.
