Not exactly a cut away but a magnified view of a copper wall with formicary corrosion, it's usually chemicals in the air like UPS batteries or certain foods that create this . Once this sets in, the evap is toast is at is not just happening in one area but multiple. Trying to repair this will most likely create further damage on other areas of the weakened metal. Manufacturers spend 100's of 1000's a year on warranty coils and HVAC companies are taking techs off the road and loosing money to tackle warranty repairs. I do believe the quality of the metal is contributing to this now a days, but it's real life real HVAC. #teachme
