Fixed bearing on the left floating bearing on the right. The retaining rings on each side of the bearing race in the housing give it away. The fixed bearing should be located where there is the most radial tension ie pulley / motor side. When changing big bearings it never hurts to enquire if one should be fixed and one should be floating or both should be floating. The building guys attempted to change the coupling on their own. Pic 4 / 5 show the result of the old coupling without adjusting the coupling flange on the shaft. Pic 3 shows how much we had to adjust the flange to accommodate the new shaft coupling. My guess is that the original shaft coupling which we never saw was wider then the new one they put in and the new replacement we found. Either way our balancer is coming in tomorrow to verify proper operation.
