Ok, I'm going to toss this into the student group also. Please leave answers for the apprentice techs/students. What's the problem with the following system. And give your reason for the diagnosis. 5 Ton split system Scroll compressor Low liquid saturation temperature High Suction saturation temperature Low Delta T on the evaporator Low compressor amps. So this was a real life example of a service call I did while still in Trade school. We had just been thru the diagnostic cheat sheet and this is an obvious "bad compressor valve" according to the material I was taught. So my self and another tech changed the compressor only to have the exact same readings and then we found the piston at the indoor unit was completely missing. I threw in the Scroll detail because scrolls don't have typical valves like a reciprocating and they don't fail in that way.
