Every HVAC School teaches Ohms Law, but in reality, we hardly ever use it in the field, especially with the electrical components we test as technicians. Ohms Law can only be used for RESISTIVE loads like electric strip heat. You cannot use it on REACTIVE loads like motors, solenoids and other electromagnetic loads.
