MAKE UP AIR - 2 large MUAs pictured below at a food plant 🏭 A make up air unit is used to bring fresh air indoor an occupied building space. This will travel through filters, and be pulled through them by a fan, then pushed into the space. The unit both adds fresh filtered air to the space, and “makes up” for the air which is removed by exhaust fans from a building pressure standpoint 🏢 Make up air units may also have a heating or cooling coil within them to temper the fresh air before blowing into the building.
