I made a visit to a supply house Friday to pick up a box of filters, something I have neglected as I worked 70 hour weeks for the last six months. Someone asked for a Supply list so I shot this photo. I don’t know if it’s particularly good but it exists A little story. During my time standing at the counter, two customers approached one I had a referred to The Counter and met him there in order to help him with his warranty claim. While standing at the counter, I showed him how to look up the part number, see if there were any replacements or aftermarket motors. Discussed with him the value of using the original motor and then showed him how he could look up availability throughout our entire region by using the app. I am happy to look it up for you, but you have to understand the effect on my job and day behind the counter. I’m doing your job. I’m also doing my job and probably the jobs of a few other people around me. Who aren’t that good at their job? So something’s gonna break and that’s why you see so much turnover in supply houses. While waiting for my filters, I saw Gary who’s largely retired. He was doing a warranty coil for a friend and when he was picking up that coil, he like the person on the dock, had no idea what the part numbers on the side meant. I asked him to take the coil out of the box. Upon doing so we found an electronic expansion valve something that should not be on a coil for that model. As it uses a traditional expansion valve. most people working in the field, do not possess this knowledge. It’s something you gain through experience, having a strong technical understanding of the products and what they should look like and with experience. But are you gonna let some amateur destroy your business? Find the right supplier with the right counter guy or a girl or a woman and start a real relationship! Not only will it pay it will save you a fortune! See u in Orlando 7863388919 I’ll be on the convention floor
