Odd turn of events. My contractor fired me yesterday after the new service manager took me getting things done as me doing his job. All these years I busted my ass for this place and rose up to the top and my boss couldn’t put his ego aside and admit that I was simply doing my job. I am one of their top techs so I had a meeting set up with another contractor within a half hour but it goes to show where their priorities are. Something that’s transpired uber the past few years is my contractor that had been mom and pop owned but had grown quite a bit sold out to a company called “Crete” and things started sliding down hill pretty fast. The values of the company shifted pretty hard and the office positions have been a revolving door which impacts the guys in the guys in the field. It’s times like these that make me wish I had become a service fitter so I could get a job with one of the factory service companies. Luckily the sheet metal Workers own service where I’m at so I didn’t really have to sweat anything too much. But the service fitters have taken service over everywhere else. Wish me luck at my meeting today. PS. Really burns that I busted my ass last week to make an icemaker job happen wen the service manage fumbled it and worked late Friday to get it all done and meanwhile my boss was planning to “lay me off” on the word of some schmuck.
