This is a hard question to put into words so if anyone would be able to answer it thanks in advance! I was installing a water tank today in a restaurant. The water tank had an intake and an exhaust. We did the exhaust in 3” CPVC and Initially started the intake in PVC but the engineer was saying we can’t put PVC above a drop ceiling in a commercial building and made us switch the pipe to CPVC. Engineer was saying it’s code but I’ve never seen that in the Gas code or in the manufacture specs. Has anyone heard anything like this before? I’m in Ottawa Canada I know rules change in different regions but just want to see what you guys have to say.
