#teachme Common mistake when an orfice is installed backwards is to call the compressor due to the close compression ratio. What you will see is low compressor amps due to the low compression ratio caused by refrigerant flow through the orfice and around the outside edges of the orfice. low delta T across your evaporator, little to no superheat and possible liquid flood back to the compressor. Sub cooling will be normal as long as your charge is right. Make sure the orfice seats properly, check the manual if you are unsure of direction.
