#teachme Yoga pipe ACR Is a flexible refrigeration line set that can be installed and contorted in tight places with out kinking. It’s made of 3 layers with glue between them. The 1st layer is PERT glued to 2nd layer of Aluminum glued to 3rd layer of Pert. FYI Pert is just the plastic name It requires special tools to cut and ream yoga pipe, additionally a crimping tool to secure the fitting together at the evaporator and condenser. Fittings can be welded on or a flare nut type. Yes it’s cheaper then copper, yes it cuts install time in half, Yes it’s been in service for over ten years In Italy, Germany and other places. Yes it has a 50 year life expectancy and a 10 year warranty. If it fails they SAY they will replace it and all costs associated with it. However. This is all just a sales pitch. Yoga pipe hasn’t paid one claim as of yet on 100 units Defects were known, we were told how to determine if our pipe had defects. That was to Test to 600 psi for at least 1 hour Did that. All passed even after 24 hours on nitro Vacuum time was 10x longer then copper This equipment had been in service for less then a year before we had blown pipes. We’ve had 68% failure rate in just 5 months so now we’re replacing it all with copper. Very lucky no one was home sleeping when they exploded inside the unit. I’ll never use Yoga pipe again.
